Ramdoot Restores is thrilled to announce our next restoration project, RR2, aimed at revitalizing the Ancient Hanuman Ji Temple in Panch Khobla, Gujarat. This historically and spiritually significant temple, over 705 years old, is dedicated to Hanuman Ji, with Shiva and Devi as the other main deities.
Our mission is to restore this temple to its former glory, ensuring it remains a vibrant center for worship and community engagement.
Nestled within the village of Panch Khobla, the temple is surrounded by lush green forests and sits atop a hill, offering stunning views of the natural landscape and a glimpse of one of the revered Shakti Peeths. This serene location serves as a peaceful haven for spiritual reflection and connection with nature.
The Hanuman Ji Temple is a vital part of our heritage, symbolizing our cultural and spiritual identity. Unfortunately, it has suffered greatly over the centuries, bearing the scars of violent attacks and neglect. The once-majestic structure now stands in urgent need of restoration, with broken idols, damaged sculptures, and a collapsing infrastructure. Despite its deteriorated state, the temple’s architecture hints at its former glory, and we are committed to honoring and preserving its legacy.
Restoring the Hanuman Ji Temple is more than just a project; it is a mission to reclaim our history and revitalize a sacred space. We aim to restore its structural integrity, repair damages, and bring back its historical splendor. This restoration will provide a gathering place for worship and community activities, fostering a deeper connection to our cultural roots.
Based on engravings found near the temple, it is believed that the Hanuman Ji Temple was constructed in the Shaka year 1372 by Rabiyaswami, the eldest son of the noble Rana from the Takshanya lineage. Designed in the Niagara style, the temple features multiple entry points, indicated by five Keerti Mukhs discovered on site. Its use of sandstone and intricate carvings highlights its artistic and cultural significance.
The temple showcases the architectural brilliance of its era, with detailed and sophisticated designs. Approximately 80% of the original structure has been found scattered around the vicinity. Although villagers have reassembled a Garbhagraha-type structure, it still requires restoration to align with the original design. The temple’s construction includes interlocking technology for pillars and roofs, demonstrating the advanced engineering of the time. Unfortunately, weathering has taken a toll on the murals and carvings.
The Hanuman Ji Temple currently stands in disrepair, with only the makeshift Garbhagraha providing a semblance of its original form. Previous restoration attempts using cement have proven inadequate due to a lack of funds and expertise. However, local community and authority support is strong, underscoring the importance of this restoration.
In the long term, we envision transforming the Hanuman Ji Temple complex into a thriving cultural and spiritual hub:
The restoration of the Ancient Hanuman Ji Temple is a commitment to preserving our heritage and revitalizing our community. We invite you to join us in this noble cause. Together, we can breathe new life into this sacred space, ensuring it remains a testament to our history and a place of worship for generations to come.
Thank you for considering our proposal. We look forward to the opportunity to partner with you in this significant endeavor.
In the long and tumultuous history of Bharat, Hindu temples have stood as more than mere edifices of stone
and mortar. They have been vibrant centers of our civilization—repositories of the sacred, symbols of
continuity, and sanctuaries of spiritual strength. These temples, where dharma was taught, where
communities gathered, and where the flame of Sanatan culture was nurtured, have suffered ruthless
destruction, plunder, and neglect. Foreign invasions and modern indifference have left many of these sacred
spaces in ruins—untended and unrecognized.
WHEREAS the custodians of our civilization have often been indifferent or powerless, failing to address the
gradual decay of these hallowed spaces—spaces that are not merely places of worship but vital organs of the
Hindu community;
WHEREAS it is incumbent upon those who retain a sense of our civilizational destiny to act, awaken Hindu
society to this peril, and undertake the colossal task of restoring these temples—reclaiming not just the
stones but the spirit, traditions, and collective pride of a people who have endured millennia of assault;
AND WHEREAS the task of temple restoration transcends architecture; it is a civilizational project of
paramount importance—calling for the unity of the Hindu fold, transcending divisions of caste, creed,
region, and language, to preserve and rebuild our lost heritage;
THEREFORE, the Ramdoot Restores Foundation is established with the following objectives:
1. To reclaim and restore 108 Hindu temples across Bharat that have fallen victim to historical
destruction, thereby restoring our civilizational identity and ensuring these temples continue to stand
as bastions of dharma;
2. To awaken the Hindu Samaj to the greatness of its past, reminding it of the strength, wisdom, and
resilience that flows through its veins, and to forge a unity that transcends divisions that have
weakened our societal fabric;
3. To reinvigorate these temples as living institutions by fostering an ecosystem of spiritual, cultural,
and economic life around them, ensuring they become centers of learning, service, and community
engagement;
4. To build a future anchored in our civilizational values through the establishment of Ved pathshalas,
Gurukuls, gaushalas, and dharmic institutions that will educate and nurture the next generation of
Hindus, instilling in them a sense of pride and responsibility towards their heritage;
5. To ensure that temple restoration leads to the regeneration of Hindu society as a whole, rekindling
the flame of dharma that has sustained our civilization through countless adversities, and ensuring it
burns brightly for generations to come.
WHEREAS the deterioration of our sacred temples, exacerbated by modern governance’s apathy, has reached
a critical stage, the Hindu Samaj can no longer afford to remain passive. This mission is not merely an
initiative of preservation but an essential duty for the survival of our civilization—one that carries the weight
of our future.
NOW, THEREFORE, the Ramdoot Restores Foundation, inspired by the legacy of our revered ancestors
and the visionary leadership of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and Maharani Ahilyabai Holkar, hereby adopts
this Constitution as a guiding charter for the revival of our temples, the reawakening of the Hindu Samaj, and
the liberation of Hindu temples from state control.
